Artworks

I create art in Procreate, using reference photos as a guide. Before starting, I sketch multiple layouts to explore different compositions and find the best one. I focus heavily on colour, aiming for unique and interesting palettes rather than sticking to realism. Completing a piece typically takes around 10 hours, though the time varies depending on the complexity.

I focused on using color to draw attention to the center of the face, which is the only area I fully rendered. The rest of the piece remains deliberately rough and unfinished, creating a contrast that reinforces the face as the focal point. This approach emphasizes the subject while adding a sense of texture and depth to the overall composition.

I tried to make the eye look like it is glowing under sunlight, I achieved this with the color dodge layer to enhance the brightness and depth. I made everything highly rendered and defined, except for the eyelashes, to mimic the focus on a camera.

Woman

I tried to focus on negative space and geometric shapes, which is a different from my usual style. I wanted to experiment with simplicity and structure in this piece as usually I rely on colour to make my art look interesting.

I created this piece in the 3D modeling software Maya, using a flat 2D plane with an image applied for the background. I focused on giving the character plenty of personality, especially through the dynamic posing. The design is built from simple geometric shapes, which not only make modelling more efficient but also contributed to a better and more recognisable character design.
